After transfer of several IAS officers, more administration reshuffle on cards

srinagar, Sept 11: After transferring several IAS officers on Monday, ET has learnt that more reshuffle of upper and middle rung officials including some HODs was on the cards.
Sources said that the reshuffle would be made in next few days as the government had already completed the homework for this.
Insiders here in the civil secretariat told Early Times that in the second round of transfers more top-level officials like, divisional commissioners, deputy commissioners and Managing Directors would be changed.
Sources claimed that the list of the officials to be changed and their replacements had already been received by the state advisory council (SAC).
Sources said there could be minor changes in the lists if required, otherwise these would be followed.
Sources said that the Governor after assuming charge of the state had sought a list of officers along with their tenure from the general administration department. "He (Governor) wants to make the state administration transparent and accountable at top as well as middle- rung," sources said.
On the directions of the Governor, General administration department is also compiling a list of honest and upright officers who would be posted in the important postings, sources maintained.
It is to mention here that Monday's administrative reshuffle was the first by Governor Satya Paul Malik since he took over the reins of governance in the state.
Sources in the Raj Bhawan said that the governor wants the radical changes in the functioning of the state's overall administration "Transparency in the government is the top priority of the Governor. He (Governor) wants to ensure that the common masses have accessible, Transparent, accountable government," one of the officials of the Raj Bhawna said.
"Governor is serious towards the accountability in the administration and is personally going through each and every biodata," one of the senior officials of the government said on the condition of anonymity.
Sources said that blue eyed officers who are working in the same department from so many years are also likely to be transferred.
Sources said that the reshuffle is also in view of holding smooth urban local bodies and Panchayat polls.
Meanwhile sources said that the Governor has directed the GAD to energise the vigilance framework in the state to ensure transparent and responsive public service delivery.
"The administrative secretaries have been directed to personally review all pending vigilance matters in the respective departments and a consolidated report submitted to the Governor on fortnightly basis," sources maintained.
It is to mention here that government on Monday ordered transfer of several IAS officers in the administration.
