Prof Gupta criticizes political parties for boycotting elections
9/13/2018 9:55:33 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 13: The former Union Minister Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta has ridiculed the boycott call to the long pending elections to the basic democracies of the State and alleged that some outfits of troubled Kashmir are indulging in political blackmail by linking these with a constitutional issue viz. the provision of 35-A, which has little relevance with Panchayat or Municipal bodies.
The issue of the validity of 35-A is before the Supreme Court but instead of relying upon judicial process, an attempt is being made to create a messy situation in the Valley and thus, the big India is being asked to dance at their tunes as if India had acceded to their Valley and not Kashmir to the Union of India which is being asked to act on the dictates of some political family outfits of Kashmir.
Prof. Gupta said that sad situation in Kashmir is the result of the blunders committed by Jawahar Lal Nehru.
Prof. Gupta said that changing of colour by the NC leader is not a new phenomena, Dr. Farooq seems to have become habitual in doing so and by raising contradictory voices he is generally termed as an enigma and trying to be making fool of others. But this behavior of him is itself making him unreliable. It looks amazing that PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti is also trying to sail with the Farooq led NC.
Although her father the great Mufti Mohd. Syed had created PDP to provide a political space in the politics of Kashmir by challenging the hegemony of the one family in the Valley.
