AAP activists sit on dharna in support of SSA teachers | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 15: The Jammu Division based leadership of Aam Aadmi Party showed solidarity with striking SSA/RMSA Teachers demanding benefits of 7th Pay Commission to them on the sole plank of natural justice viz: equal pay for equal job and sat on Dharna with them for two hours in the back yard of Press Club, Jammu. Addressing the striking employees the AAP leaders said that such like instances of discrimination is the outcome of corrupt policies of successive state governments as they first engage the employees without concrete planning and then putting them to sit on Dharna to seek justice of equality in terms of equal pay for equal job. They further quoted the example of Delhi Govt. allocating 10,500 crores for Education sector as compared to meager 1800 crores in J&K for almost equal population and that it is the wrong policy of successive state governments that are answerable and responsible for the disastrous plight of Education Department in the state. The AAP leaders further stressed that time has come for a total change in the socio-politico scenario in the state and exhorted upon the Teachers fraternity that Education never means passing of tests but in fact education should bring up complete socio-politico and economic awakening not among the students but whole society as well. They appealed His-Excellency the Governor to look into the bonfide grievances of striking teachers so that unrest among the striking employees cools down on one hand and the students also do not suffer on the other hand. |
