Harsh Dev urges voters to support Panther party in upcoming elections
9/16/2018 10:01:47 PM
Early Times Report
Samba, Sept 16: Urging upon the people of Jammu region to vote and support Panthers Party in the upcoming elections of local bodies in the state, Harsh Dev Singh JKNPP Chairman and Former Minister said that traditional political parties including BJP and Congress could not be the remedy for the local issues and problems faced by the people of the region.
Likewise he said the NC and PDP had amply demonstrated their preference for Kashmir while persistently disregarding the issues of Jammu region and relegating it to worse than second class status. He said that repeated betrayals with the Jammu cause by the said parties had caused huge embitterment amongst the people who were desperately seeking an alternative and which could be provided by Panthers Party alone. He was addressing public meetings in Sumb, (Samba), Bawe (Ward No. 47) and Sidhra (Ward No.71) in JMC today.
Speaking on the occasion he said that ever since the formation of Panthers Party in 1982, it had relentlessly fought against the discrimination doled out Jammu region by successive state and central govts while seeking equitable treatment to all regions of the state. And while parties like BJP surrendered even their core fundamentals for the sake of power, the political philosophy of NPP leadership never underwent any change despite ups and down and upheavals in the political landscape of the state. No enticements, allurements and offers of power could lure the Panthers leadership which provided the highest examples of probity and morality in public life, he said. "Having failed to inveigle the Panthers Party leaders, these power hungry parties tried to bully and browbeat them by using some reckless officers and sycophants in the administration. The intrepid and undaunted Panthers have refused to succumb and shall continue to face their onslaughts with a renewed vigour. Battered by storms, the Panthers have emerged stronger and are capable to provide a viable alternative to the people of Jammu region", said Singh.
Assailing the BJP for all its acts of subterfuge and sins that it committed during its 3 ½ years rule, he also said that it was the time to avenge all its betrayals. "You have your own local party fighting for you. NPP is the only political party of Jammu region which has been recognized by Election Commission of India. Why should our people run after those parties who have too seek dictations from New Delhi or Kashmir to open their mouth. And why should we not support our own regional party which has the capacity to assume the mantle of Dogra leadership. Why should we go with those who belied our hopes, disgraced us and caused the severest dent upon our self pride and honour. Give us one chance. We have the capacity to confront the anti Jammu parties with all the required aggression and perspicuity. We shall overcome and restore the lost glory and pride of Dogra land", roared Harsh.
Prominent among those who spoke on the occasion included Yash Paul Kundal State President Young Panthers, Shiv Charan, Rajeshwar Singh, Arun Khajuria, Basharat Ali, Gagan Partap, Parshotam Parihar, K.K Sharma, Rahul Sharma, Anoop Singh, Anil Rakwal besides others.
