Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 18: Refugee Unity Council condemned the state Governor's administration for its working on BJP and Congress's shabby and hatred agenda towards POK refugees resulting a motivated and unjustified reservation of their Municipal wards as a so-called de-limitation process for proposed Municipal elections.
Addressing media persons, Ex-Sarpanch Aya Singh, Ex-Sarpanch Gurgev Singh and President Gurudwara Singh Sabha, Basti Karan Bagh, Kulbir Singh said unfortunate migration in the year 1947, 36000 refugee families as camping category and 24000 as non Camping category have to face the unbearable pains of migration and then insufficient assistance of Indian rulers, leaders of the refugees council expressed. This aggrieved section of POK refugees was settled in Jammu, Kathua, Udhampur, Nowshehra and Poonch to survive in hardships rather miserable conditions, they added. Even after a continues struggle of 70 years, 40% POK refugee families still have to struggle for basic amenities everywhere and this is slap on the face of our state/Indian rulers, they added.
On one hand, Indian rulers have reserved 24 assembly seats for the citizens of Pak occupied area of state and in that case, these POK refugees have a right on 11-12 such assembly seats and on the other hand, parties like BJP and Congress are showing their meanness by snatching our 1st. ever Municipal representation rights by way of unjustified reservation of their wards through puppet Governor administration, leaders of 'Refugees Unity Council leaders' alleged during media conference. We are the worst sufferers after 1947 and it is the shameful act on the part of BJP and Congress those have manipulated against us in a mean manner in the name of so-called de-limitation by influencing state Governor Administration, they added.
They appealed to the state Governor Sat Pal Malik for justice while stopping sabotaging tactics against our democratic rights otherwise we have no option but to resent on roads to expose the inhuman & hatred face of BJP, Congress and state Governor's puppet administration towards POK refugees, Leaders of the 'Refugees Unity Council' warned.
