Reasi, Sept 19: Work on construction of a cafeteria by Tourism Department is incomplete here of the last around six years though the said work was scheduled to be completed in two years.
Officials said in Pouni tehsil, some six kilometers away in Domail, the tourism department has been constructing a cafeteria to cater to the growing number of tourists visiting the district.
"But annually a symbolic amount is spent on the construction of the building whereas the rest of the amount is swindled by some officials," the sources alleged. The locals said in the absence of requisite infrastructure for the tourists, the visitors were facing lot of inconvenience. When contacted Director Tourism said he doesn't even know of the construction. Meanwhile the Reasi residents have appealed Governor SP Malik to personally look into the matter. |
