9/20/2018 10:50:47 PM
Early Times Report

UDHAMPUR, Sept 20: Even as Urdu is the official language of the state, it still faces neglect in terms of its promotion and enrichment. In numerous government schools, there exists no provision for Urdu teaching. The government schools though can't say no to it, but in the absence of Urdu teachers almost in every government school, teaching of Urdu stands affected badly.
While several schools are without Urdu teachers but the language is still considered to be as official. With going through an utter neglect, how can government make Urdu a compulsory language in several competitive examinations.
Like several other schools, the Government High School Darsoo in Udhampur district is no exception as far as the issue of lack of Urdu teacher concerned.
The school is without Urdu teacher for the last so many years but the school education department which claims a lot to promote Urdu language is in deep slumber.
Out of 130 students in the school, 56 of them want to study Urdu language but in the absence of the Urdu teacher they cannot do so.
Akhtar Hussain, a student of the school said that we are worst suffers as we don't have Urdu teacher here in our school.
