Distribution of BJP tickets authenticates Priya Jaral, Mangu Shah's allegations
9/21/2018 11:27:30 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 21: Anger shown by BJP leaders especially women workers against 'selling' of party tickets to unknown persons has authenticated serious allegations earlier leveled by veteran leader Priya Jaral and Kuldeep Dubey alias Mangu Shah. Today a large number of BJP workers, majority of them women have alleged that party tickets were sold and only influential persons have managed tickets for themselves or their family members.
There is growing discontent in the BJP over loyal party leaders and workers got a raw deal in the distribution of tickets. Some of the leaders who have been ignored have turned rebels and their miffed supporters have started resorting to protests.
In some cases, the disgruntled party workers have resorted to various forms of protest like the one held at party officer and in front of the house of state president Ravinder Raina.
The workers' anger had spilled over after Urvaishi Gupta, who joined the BJP two days back, was given ticket from ward number 24 by ignoring state president Rajni Sethi, who is Mahila Morcha president of the party.
On August 31, veteran BJP leader Priya Jaral had leveled allegation of sexual exploitation of female workers in the party to get favour. She alleged that only those workers were given importance who fulfilled wishes of senior leaders.
Similarly last week, party's district president from Reasi, Kuldeep Dubey alias Mangu Shah had exposed many senior leaders who were indulged into corrupt practices and extortion in the name of party fund.
Credible sources said that party funds were taken from many candidates, who have been given party mandates for civic bodies elections in Jammu.
