Poonch, Sept 21: People of Mendhar town have alleged that Swacch Bharat Mission was a complete failure and huge sum spent on it goes down the drain. Authorities took out a rally in which SDM Dr Tanveer Khan also participated giving an impression that SBM in Mendhar was a success.
But the fact remains that the Mendhar town is very dirty place and gives a shabby look all along. All the drains in the town have choked.
People use polythene bags unabated and these polythene bags get stuck in drains and these drains get choked and over flows spreading litter every where.
As a matter of fact no cleanliness drive was undertaken during the SBM Programme in this town, besides Rural Development department holds annual maintenance contact for Mendhar town for Rs 25 lakh per year still heaps of garbage and filth can be seen easily in the heart of the town.
While talking to Early Times Sanatan Dharam Sabha President Satish Sharma said that Rural Development department turns a nelson's eye towards the town while SBM programme could not do much here.
We appeal the people to keep themselves your surroundings neat and clean. He also urged the district authorities to pay a visit to this town where litter and filth is spread all over and locals brew resentment against the concerned authorities for their failure to keep the Mendhar town clean, he added. |
