Lal Singh to hold massive rally today
Discrimination against Jammu
9/22/2018 10:45:09 PM

Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 22: Former Minister and senior BJP leader, Ch. Lal Singh is going to have a big showdown here tomorrow against what he called the continuous discrimination with Jammu region at the hands of successive governments.
The former Minister who is going to organise a big rally at Jammu is considered to be resurgence of proud and patriotic people in Jammu. The day is considered to be of great importance in the history of Jammu as patriotic Dogras and nationalist people of the State will come under one umbrella to raise their voice against the discrimination they meted through the hands of the Kashmir centric politicians who exploited the New Delhi for their vested interests right from 1947-the Day Maharaja Hari Singh signed the Instrument of Accession with Union of India and Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah was appointed as first Prime Minister of J&K.
Sources said Dogras of Jammu and patriotic people of the State will assemble on Jammu roads to raise their voice against the discrimination meted out to them through the hands of Kashmir centric leaders who were at the helm of affairs since 1947 after the exhale of former ruler of the undivided J&K State, Maharaja Hari Singh.
Sources said that the rally while reiterating to fight for the rights of nationalist people of the State and ending of continued discrimination to which Jammu region has been subjected since 1947 will also fight for the rights of West Pak, PoJK refugees and displaced Pandits from Valley.
It will also launch a movement against the settlement of foreigners in the Jammu region who were brought here only with the purpose to change the demography of the region which is predominantly a Dogra land., sources added.
Sources said that many social activists and prominent people of Jammu will also joon the rally and address it. Lal Singh has kept doors for all open to come and participate in the rally which will be ever biggest showdown against the forces who subjected the Jammu region to discrimination right from 1947.
The rally will also pose a big challenge to BJP which has 25 MLAs from the region as Lal Singh is the sitting MLA of the Party who joined it in the year 2014 after resigning from the Congress when the Party failed to give him mandate from the Doda- Udhampur and Kathua Lok Sabha Constituency which eh represented for two consecutive terms in 2004 to 2009 and 2009 t0 2014. However, he took a stand on much publicised Rassana rape and murder case and joined a rally at Hiiranagar along with his ministerial colleague early this year when people of the area were protesting against the police excesses in the area.
Later yielding to public criticism and party pressure both Lal Singh and Ganga resigned from Mehbooba Mufti Cabinet and since then Lal Singh took a decision to fight against the highhandedness of Kashmir Centric politicians and growing discrimination with Jammu region.
Since then Lal Singh openly challenged the Kashmir centric leadership and held corner meetings, rallies and public demonstrations for the rights of nationalist people of the State and Dogras of Jammu.
Mr Singh has resolved to take his present struggle to its logical conclusion and will not rest till the discrimination with people of Jammu ends.
The decision of the former Minister has perturbed the BJP leadership also and in case the former Minister decides to announce new party its main target will be BJP and it can cut a big chunk of party's vote. However it will be seen which way the wind blows as some political analysts believe that Lal Singh has been put in the field by RSS and he has the backing of BJP High Command too to consolidate the nationalist people in the State on a single political platform.
