JKP Cop manhandles badminton player in ongoing tournament

JAMMU, Sept 23: A Jammu and Kashmir Policeman allegedly manhandled a badminton player in presence of audience during ongoing Badminton Tournament being organized at Police Indoor Badminton Hall Gulshan Ground here today.
As per eyewitnesses a policeman Vasu, who was present in the audience forcibly removed one of the senior badminton player Aakash from court while he was playing a match and dragged onto the floor without any reason. Players present there told that said police cop manhandled the senior badminton player and beat him in the presence of J&K Badminton Association officials when he had allegedly complained to referee on a point during the match.
The alleged intervention of policeman and manhandling a player has drawn a strong resentment. "It is totally unacceptable that a police personal who is supposed to care taker of the Police Badminton Indoor Complex Jammu has misbehaved with a player during match and more shocking fact is that his intervention in the game was totally illegal as he was not designated as official of in game," they alleged.
They further informed that cop entered in the badminton court when an argument between player and referee was going on some issue over a point and dragged the player and beat him up. Meanwhile, the parents of the badminton player took the issue serious and appealed the DGP Dilbag Singh and ADG Armed AK Choudhary, J&K to take disciplinary action against the erring cop. They also urged ADG Armed AK Choudhary to hold an departmental inquiry against him and order mental check up of the cop. The parents also urged the Secretary, J&K State Sports Council, Dr Naseem Javid Choudhary to issue show cause notice to the J&K Badminton Association for showing disrespect to the player of the state.
