Jammu, Sept 24: Financial Commissioner Revenue, Dr. Pawan Kotwal today discussed revenue related issues with the Deputy Commissioners of Jammu Division here at a high level meeting.
Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma, Settlement Commissioner Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza and Deputy Commissioners of all districts of Jammu, attended the meeting either personally or through video conferencing. During the meeting, the FCR discussed various revenue related issues and reviewed the working of Revenue department in the division.
The meeting was informed about the preparation of Jamabandi and Girdawaris in the districts. The concerned DCs informed FCR that the entries in revenue records viz Girdawari and Jamabandi are in process. The FCR asked the Deputy Commissioners to closely monitor the registration process of Girdawaris and Jamabandi to ensure fair entries.
Stressing on the proper maintenance of revenue records, he asked Deputy Commissioners to renovate revenue buildings. He asserted that Land revenue records are precious documents and should be safely protected. He asked the DCs to prepare list of Patwar Khanas, tehsil offices and other revenue buildings to be renovated so as to provide secure place for patwaris and ensure security of valuable revenue records in their respective districts.
The meeting also discussed the land encroachment issues. The Div com apprised FCR about the land retrieved by respective District administrations. The FCR asked DCs to instruct the tehsildars of their respective districts to work on the court directions and speed up the process of retrieving encroached state land. He also asked to provide vacant land to departments for better use. The meeting further discussed the plan for the construction of Emergency Operation Centers (EoCs) in districts. The DCs apprised the FCR that the land has been identified for construction of EoCs in all districts.
