JAMMU, Sept 24: Three children from different areas were hospitalized due to adverse reactions resulting from the MR vaccination, which was given to them at schools on Monday. Moreover, striking staff alleged that the vaccination is being given by untrained staff as trained staff on strike over 20 days. However, the concerned doctors dined and said MR vaccine being used in the campaign is completely safe. On Monday, children were given the Measles-Rubella (MR) vaccine at the Schools, in which three children, two from Chakori, RS Pura and another one from Akhnoor side fell sick later. They were admitted to Shri Maharaja Gulab Singh Hospital Jammu and all were receiving treatment. Confirming the news, the doctors of the SMGS Hospital said that three children were admitted in the hospital due to respiratory distress problem and they all are under the observation after providing treatment to them. Besides, striking staff told," we are on strike over 20 days in favour of our genuine demands by stopping the works. Trained staff, who attended the vaccination training, are on strike then who is administrating MR vaccine to the children, "they pointed. They alleged that the concerned authority is befooling Centre and state government in the name of vaccination by administrating it from untrained staff. They asked who will be responsible if any mishappening will take place. BMO RS Pura, Dr Satish Bhagat said that two children from Chokroi fell sick as one was suffering fever and another didn't eat breakfast. He dined that there are no adverse reactions from MR vaccination reported so far.
