NITS starts "Swachhata Hi Seva" campaign

Jammu, Sept 24: NITS Polytechnic, Indira Nagar, Miran Sahib , Jammu in collaboration with Art of Living(AOL) Jammu Chapter and residents of Indira Nagar Colony started the mass mobilization campaign to meet the goal of Swachh Bharat.
The staff, students, management of the institution, art of living volunteers and people of village Indira Nagar total numbering more than 1200 shall participate on different days to create awareness and will highlight the importance of cleanliness amongst the masses during the fortnight long campaign.
Speaking on the occasion the director of the institute and state teacher coordinator AOL Savinder Gupta said that this Swachh Bharat campaign is aimed at cleaning the Indira Nagar environs and improving sanitation facilities. NITS and AOL has taken the responsibility of Indira Nagar village in the vicinity of the institute in RS Pura Tehsil and will engage itself in cleaning the area, promoting public sanitation and will launch a campaign on waste management.
The institute will also actively participate in awareness building which will be done by organizing debates, essay competitions and student's project works on the theme of sanitation, public hygiene and waste management. He also emphasized that the young budding students of the Mechanical Engineering dept. has also developed a Waste Compositing machine in the college workshop itself to support and promote the Swachh Bharat Mission.
Ashok Choudhary, SS Wazir, PL kher, Paramjit Singh senior faculty of NITS Polytechnic also participated in this cleanliness drive.
