In Sunderbani, Vigilance 'sleeps' over corruption complaints
9/24/2018 10:45:57 PM
Early Times Report
rajouri, Sept 24: With no let up in complaints of corruption in Sunderbani here, the Vigilance organization has come under scanner for allegedly "sleeping over the complaints" filed with the investigative agency.
The residents of Sunderbani said on April 24, 2017 they had filed complaint against the Rural Development Department and other concerned agencies for the allegedly swindling funds worth millions of the centrally-sponsored MGNREGA scheme. The concerned Village Level Workers and Block Development Officer were also accused of allowing non-local laborers to have worked in MGNREGA projects in violation of norms.
The locals said the Vigilance office had endorsed the complaint wide receipt number 7264. "But till now no action has been taken against any of the accused and we're given to understand that Vigilance officials are hand in glove with the accused," the locals said.
A vigilance official said the matter would be looked into.
Meanwhile the locals have appealed the Governor SP Malik to "pull up the Vigilance organization for being inactive on public complaints."
