Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 14: Two Assistant professors of Government Degree College (GDC) Kathua were thrashed by two outsiders inside the college premises, when they confronted them for stalking the girls students.
Though the culprits fled from the college after the incident, but they were later caught by police ; however the College administration let them go and refused to lodge an FIR, leaving the faculty members fuming.
Sources informed Early Times that the incident happened in the first week of October, when two outsiders visited the Commerce department in inebriated condition. "They were gazing at the girls from the Commerce department's window, when a professor found them and questioned their intentions", sources said, adding that the outsiders thrashed the professors and when another professor objected, he was also thrashed by the intruders.
The issue was brought to the notice of College administration by the aggrieved Assistant Professors and even all the faculty members in one voice asked the College Principal to lodge an FIR.
Sources further said that one of the outsiders was found to be an ATM guard while another one was an influential person, who has been visiting the college premises to harass the girl students earlier also. "Police caught hold of the culprits, who had thrashed the Assistant Professors but the college administration refused to lodge formal complaint and let the culprits go unharmed.
Police officials were ready to lodge an FIR but they were seeking a written complaint from the College administration, which they didn't get, so finally the culprits were released. Sources divulged that anger has been brewing among the faculty members against the attitude of the principal, but college administration was mum over the matter.
