Anuj beat Salil in Men's single final

POONCH, Oct 14 : 28th Poonch District Open Table Tennis championship concluded today in which Anuj beat Salil Raina in Men's single final in a keenly contested match by 11-9, 2-11,11-7,6-11,11-7. In cadet singles, Pratham beat Ridhik 11-9,11-6,11-8 While in Men's doubles, defending champion Salil Raina and Saleem Bandey beat Narinder and Sandeep Luthra by 11-9,11-9,8-11,11-7.
Deputy Commissioner Poonch Rahul Yadav was the chief guest on the occasion while SSP Poonch Rajiv Pandey was guest of honour. Earlier, president District TT Association Poonch, Ajeet Singh Jeet presented a detailed report of the achievements of District T.T Association Poonch in promoting the game.
Speaking on the occasion, Er Saleem Bandey, Gen Secretary of the association said that Poonch Table tennis association is regularly organizing the said tournament for the last 28 years and that to without any facility for indoor games. He also thanked J&K Table tennis association for continuous support to District Table tennis association. Bandey also sought the attention of government over under constructed indoor sports complex at sports stadium Poonch. Dr Jasbir Singh threw light on the history of T.T Association Poonch and also conducted the proceedings.
SSP Poonch Rajiv Pandey while speaking on the occasion said that Poonch has huge talent in sports and Police also has done a lot to give a proper platform to youth to show their talent. He also lauded the role of T.T association in promoting the game.
DDC Poonch Rahul Yadav, while speaking on the occasion said that District Poonch is hugely blessed with extraordinary talent in various and under centre sponsored scheme of Khelo India, district administration is providing a platform in all corners of the district to all talent players to show their talent. He said that government is keen to developed sports infrastructure in all the districts of the state. He lauded the contribution of District Table Tennis Association in promoting the game for the last 28 years and assured full support to the association in future.
Those who were present on the occasion included DFO Mohan Choudhary, Congress leader Taj Mir, Advocate Sanjay Raina, K.K Kapoor, Kewal krishan, Prem Parkash Luthra, Pankaj Maini, Principal Boys HSS Sudershan Sharma, Vijay Sharma, Gurmeet Singh Raja and others.
