GDC Udhampur conducted Industrial visit

Udhmapur, Oct 16: GDC Udhampur conducted industrial visit at Battal Billian, Industrial Enclave Udhampur on Tuesday.
Prof. Poonam Kundan (HOD Environmental Sciences) and Prof. Sajad Ahmed Dar (Asstt. Lecturer EVS) accompanied the students from different streams of Sem-V on this visit. It is pertinent to mention here that such kind of visits are imperative for the overall awareness of the students regarding the repercussions of incessant industrial explosion vis a vis its impact on the health of our environment. Earlier in the morning worthy Principal of the College Dr. Udhey Bhanu flagged off the students on this visit and emphasized on the accompanying staff to help students materializing this visit with the expertise of the officials deputed by the DIC Udhampur and industrial managers.
Sartaj Singh (Industrial Promotion Officer) from DIC Udhampur Coordinated the whole Industrial tour in a lively way ensuring students' involvement. Mohit Aggarwal (Manager of UMA-Cements) and Dalip Sachan (Chief Chemist) welcomed the students and staff of the College and they both highlighted and discussed various aspects of pollution and highlighted various control devices being installed in UMA Cements Industries. The students were engrossed in practical study and firsthand experience regarding functioning of the Industries. Experts dealt in details on the little tit bits that we should adopt to curtail the menace and havoc of pollution. The proficient pollution controlling and eradication devices being adopted by the Cement Industries are bag filters, cyclones, wet scrubbers and many others. Visit concluded at the industrial complex with the formal vote of thanks proposed by Prof. Poonam Kundan to the experts from industries and to Manager and officials from DIC for nicely coordinating the visit.
