Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, Oct 16: Government Middle School Satrari tehsil Majalta district Udhampur near here is an open and live example of violations of all the norms which are mandatory for any educational institution in the country.
The school has a total strength of 100 students including the girls where students are forced to sit on the ground even desk already available in this school while the Head master sit on chair
"My children return home with their clothes spoiled as they have to sit on ground in the school," said Radha.
Two of her children are the students of the school.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Prime Minister Narinder Modi has initiated many schemes to improve the infrastructure for schools in the country so that the children may get education easily.
Adding another misdoing to the poor working of the school are the toilets there which remain locked for the last one year forcing even the girls to pay call of the nature in open. Even proper water supply is not available.
It is pertinent to mention here that district Udhampur has been declared as open defecation free district.
Another poor factor of the school is that the mid-day meal is cooked on wood thereby leaving a lot of smoke in the air.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Prime Minister has distributed free LP gas connections to BPL people and government schools for easy functioning of the school.
DC Udhampur Ravinder Kumar, said that he will look into the matter. However, he said the CEO would be better informed about the school.
