Early Times Report

Jammu, Oct 18: The Jammu and Kashmir Forest department officials have reportedly been allowing some of the blue-eyed wooden industry owners to transport the goods from their premises despite the fact that their licenses have already been expired.
Sources informed Early Times that three industries involved in the manufacturing of goods from Khair, were given license in the second week of October 2017 and the permission expired this year.
"These industries had manufactured goods from the Khair, over three times to their capacity and were raided by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) of police", sources said, adding that the SIT had seized documents from the industries and had also conducted verification of the material available in the industry premises. Sources further said that though the SIT had sought cooperation from the Forest department to conduct physical verification but department officials had not extended support to physically verify. "They have not been cooperating as they were aware of the fact that the finished goods as well as raw material of Khair, available in their premises is two or three times in excess to their capacity as well as the documents", sources said, adding that the industry owners were aware of the fact that if the material was physically verified, they would be in serious trouble. Sources further disclosed that many of the Forest department officials would also be caught in the entire scandal. "So the forest department has been allowing these industry owners to transport their goods from their premises", sources said, adding that despite the fact that the permission of these industries has already expired but by giving them permission, the industry owners would ultimately reduce the material in their premises, so that during physical verification, they would be saved as well as the officials of Forest department, who were involved in the entire scandal.
