Early Times Report

Srinagar, Oct 18: A Tehreek-ul-Mujahideen (TuM) terrorist was killed by the security forces in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday. Arms and ammunition have also been recovered from the spot. If reports are to be believed, the neutralised militant was wanted in grenade attack on a police party in Baramulla's Pattan that was reported on Wednesday afternoon.
Earlier on Wednesday, a TuM terrorist was arrested soon after a grenade attack was carried out on the security forces in Baramulla. He was identified as Faizan Majeed Bhat, a resident of Tral in Pulwama district. His accomplice Showkat Ahmad Bhat managed to escape. Three cops were injured in the attack.
Briefing about the incident, a police spokesman said, "Based on credible inputs that some terrorists are travelling on the Baramulla-Srinagar highway, a police team set up a checkpoint at Baba Teng Pattan." Adding further, he informed that one of the vehicles was signalled to stop but the militants inside the vehicle hurled a grenade. "One police officer, DySP Zafar Mehdi and two other cops - Shabir Ahmad and Ashiq Hussain - sustained injuries," he claimed.
