PG College Rajouri celebrates 'Sir Syed Day'

RAJOURI, Oct 18: Continuing with the tradition of celebrating Sir Syed Day, Government PG College Rajouri hosted a mega event in the multipurpose hall of the college.
The programme was coordinated by those teachers who are the alumni of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) supported and collaborated by college literary committee. The event was chaired by Dr. JA Qazi, Principal Govt. P.G. College Rajouri an alumnus of AMU and attended by a galaxy of enlightened people, staff and the students of college.
Prof. Assadullah Khan gave the welcome address followed by symposium on the topic "Sir Syed and Modern Education" in which students from various semester participated. Dr. J.A. Qazi extensively deliberated on the vision of Sir Syed and impressed upon the need to promote scientific learning and thinking and adopt a rational positive and constructive approach to life to make this country a real super power of the globe. Other prominent who spoke on the occasion included Prof. Iqbal Raina, Dr. Mohammad Saleem Wani and Dr. Ashaq Malik who opined that Sir Syed was undoubtedly among the founders of Modern India and we all need to carry forward his mission of emancipation and enlightenment of masses.
Dr. Anwer Shah, Prof. Assadullah Khan and Dr. Ahsan Rizvi acted as judges for the symposium and adjudged Farkhanda Kokeb, Aksa Dar, Visharpreet Singh and Naveed Ahmed as first, second and third respectively.
Dr. Sajar Malik conducted the proceedings of the dais whereas Dr. Abdul Qayoom Khan and Prof. Manzoor Ahmed Dar joined the Principal to present the prizes to the winners of the symposium and Dr. Anwer Shah presented vote of thanks.
