DHS alleges JDA demolish PHC forcefully without intimation
'Centre was functioning at Muthi Phase 1 since 1993'

Jammu, Oct 23: The 25 years old Primary Health Centre at Muthi Phase 1 was demolished forcefully by the officials of the Jammu Development Authority (JDA) Tuesday's morning without intimation of the drive, says Directorate of Health Services Jammu, adding all medicines, equipment and dead stock were destroyed, scattered and lying in open under debris including records of the health centre and some are missing.
In a press statement issued by DHS Jammu, it has been said that PHC Muthi Phase-I which was demolished Tuesday's morning at 4 AM by Vice Chairman Jammu Development Authority, was functioning as health institution since 1993, and was not illegal which required demolition by force, the eviction notice of JDA was discussed threadbare by the undersigned with Vice Chairman MA in his office on October 18 at 6 pm, wherein the VC, JDA agreed upon giving an alternate accommodation for PHC Muthi Phase-I before eviction and demolition was not discussed by him.
Director Health Services Jammu went to PHC Muthi Phase-I, took stock of situation and told the AEE, JDA, Ravinder to provide proper alternate accommodation for PHC before shifting could be undertaken, which was agreed upon by him in my presence, and the public has informed the undersigned that the demolition of building started at 4.00 AM in the presence of Vice Chairman Jammu Development Authority, who ordered the demolition.
It further states that the public pleaded before the Vice Chairman JDA to stop the demolition of the building of Health Centre in the interest of public health care but he didn't listen to their request. Most of the equipment have been destroyed and some items are not traceable due to which it is not possible to prepare an inventory. Tentative List of dead stock items along with letter submitted by the concerned pharmacist is enclosed for your kind information.
