ALKS, JKVM celebrate Accession Day in Delhi

New Delhi, Oct 27: All India Kashmiri Samaj (AIKS) and Jammu Kashmiri Vichar Manch (JKVM) celebrated the Accession Day (Vilay Divas) in National Capital Region of Delhi (NCR) This is the day when Maharaja Hari Singh of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh signed the 'Instrument of Accession' with India in 1947.
The main function was held in Rajinder Bhawan, DD Marg, New Delhi. Special highlights of the programe were a photo exhibition and felicitation of outstanding community sports persons. The sportsmen of exceptional achievements at National and International level honored were; Anita Raina (Tennis), Kulddep Handoo (Wusih), Siddarth Koul and Uday Koul (Cricket) and Pranav Dhar (Marshal Arts).
In reverence to their work, the speakers on the occasion, in the symposium, Dr. Subramaniam Swami. Member Rajya Sabha, Shri Balbir Punj, Former Member Rajya Sabha and a well known Columnist and Lt. Gen. P. S. Mehta (Retd.) were presented with bouquets and Shawls. Others on the podium were Col. Tej Tikoo (Retd) President, AIKS and Sh Sanjay Ganjoo, President JKVM.
Subramanian Swamy while delivering his address said, "Kashmir is the identity of India and we cannot let our identity go" added, "Nehru dynasty ruled India for 48 years. Have patience; give BJP another term to resolve Kashmir."
Swamy, a fire brand orator, further said, "Article 370 can be removed by enacting legislation in parliament." He further said on Article 370 that it can go, just by giving notification to the President of India but cautioned of the consequences if it is not well orchestrated. In strong words he said, "come what may, India will never leave Kashmir since the instrument of accession was signed by Maharaja Hari Singh with Indian Government was full and final."
He made a special mention about Kashmiri Pandits saying, "Government is keenly alive to your issues. We need some time," further adding that KPs can approach Supreme Court again with plea to re-consider crime of genocide under the relevant United Nations charter. He further assured to discuss with Central Government and leadership regarding taking over temples by central forces, jobs to unemployed, increasing educational avenues and formation of Developmental Counsel for displaced community. He asked Kashmiri brethren to believe and have faith in BJP. He informed audiences that what other parties could not do in 65 years, how the community has expectations that BJP should do it in 5 years.
Advocating the continuation of Governor's rule in state, Swamy said, "Governor Rule should continue in state for some time to address several issues neglected over decades."
He further expressed his desire to celebrate Accession Day 2019 at Lal Chowk in Srinagar.
The other speakers on the occasion were Col. Tej Tikoo (Retd.) President AIKS and Sanjay Ganjoo, President, JKVM. The podium was managed by M. K. Pajan, General Secretary AIKS and Vote of thanks was proposed by Manoj Bhan, Secretary, JKVM.
