JU postpones Semester-V exams, direct colleges to complete syllabus

Jammu, Nov 8: The University of Jammu has postponed the examination of UG course Semester-V and directed the College administration to complete the syllabus, after the issue was raised by Early Times.
Pertinently, Early Times in its edition of November 5 had published a story titled, "JU's semester examination system plays with students' career", in which it was mentioned that the classes of Semester-V had begun late but the examination were scheduled to start from 13 November 2018.
The classes begun in the last week of August and in the October month, there were many holidays and in total, only 45 lectures were conducted in the colleges against the prescribed 90 lectures to complete the syllabus.

6, issued a notification vide number Exams/BP-III/2018/1807-1880, clarifying that the examination of Semester-V, which were scheduled to start from 13 November, stand postponed.
It is also mentioned that the fresh dates of the examination shall be notified separately. "The University of Jammu has also forwarded letters to the heads of all government degree colleges, directing them to complete the syllabus of Semester-V", sources said, adding that following the order of JU, the Principal of various degreecolleges issued notices, directing the Head of the departments to ensure 100 percent coverage of the syllabus either by taking extra classes or by taking regular classes.
The students and the lecturers have taken a sigh of relief, given the postponement of the examination by the Jammu University.
