NMC demands enhancement of MA for Govt employees, pensioners

Jammu, May 10: President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri demanded immediate enhancement of Medical allowance in respect of State Government employees and pensioners from Rs.300/- to Rs.1000/- per month, so that employees and pensioners could get sigh of relief from rising prices of essential commodities and inflation.
As per press statement issued here, it states as now that Governor's administration has withdrawn insurance cover in respect of state Govt. employees and pensioners on account of misappropriations etc, it becomes become all the necessary to increase this component as pensioners and employees working in the state Govt. find it very difficult to make both ends meet.
He further added that the cost of items consumption having increased manifolds the interest of nearly six lace employees and pensioners should be provide immediate enhancement. Further the cost of medicines and hospitalization has increased on daily basis, meagre amount of Rs. 300/- is no way nearer the sanctioned allowance under 7th pay commission, he said.
While appreciating the quick decisions taken by Governor Satya Pal Malik in streamlining the administration, he appealed Malik to direct all heads of the departments to make special wage head in respect of respective departmental heads in addition a special provision be kept in the upcoming next year financial budget 2019-20 budget to allocate funds for the same, so that the salary of the daily rated workers drawn regularly basis.
Emphasizing on the need for amendment of SRO 520 to be extent of providing relief to the several thousands daily rated workers working in the various departments, who have rendered 10 to 20 years should be exempted from the production of middle qualification certificate, Shastri has also appealed to Governor Administration to take decision in this regard at the earliest so that the obstacles which are coming in implementation of this SRO 520 could be removed. "This is being pleaded because they started rendering services at the nook and corner of the remote areas of the state and have given their youth by way facing hardships in creating and providing infrastructure specially Public health engineering department, irrigation & flood control department, power development department.
He said that these poor daily rated workers without salary ranging from 20 to 40 months in the same cases and are badly starving to manage day to day expenses.
Regarding furnishing of record, it is suggested first and last voucher of their master sheets should be made the basic for easing out their process of formalities, he added. Like State Govt. employees and pensioners another category of employees of public sector undertakings in the state since decades.
Removal of all pay anomalies of clerical cadre of the state Govt. enhancing wages of daily rated workers to RS. 500/- per day beside issuance of left over daily rated workers working in rural development department of Jammu province and setting up of National wage commission and total exemption of DA from income tax were other demands highlighted in the meeting.
Among others who were present in the meeting included Rajan Babu Khajuria, B.S.Jamwal, Surinder Kumar, Shiv Ram Sharma, Romesh Sharma, Jai Pal Sharma, Ram Singh, Darshan Bawa, Surinder Kumar, Sardhri Lal, Sudesh Bhagat and others.
