BoD approves 17% enhanced DA for employees

JAMMU, Nov 12: Advisor to the Governor, Khurshid Ahmad Ganai, chaired the 79th meeting of Board of Directors of J&K State Road Corporation (JKSRTC) here today.
Principal Secretary Transport Department, Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon, Managing Director JKSRTC, Manmohan Singh, Director General Planning, Development & Monitoring Department Shahzada Bilal Ahmad, Chief Engineer PWD(R&B), Director, Ministry of Road &Transport, Director Budget, Chairman Workers Union SRTC besides other senior officers of concerned departments were present in the meeting.
The meeting discussed various agenda items including action taken report on the decisions of 78th meeting of Board of Directors, introduction of green transport/electric buses in capital cities, performance of the JKSRTC for the year 2016-17 and 2017-18,enhancement of annual plan funding for JKSRTC, replacement/ augmentation of fleet and enhancement of annual budgetary support to JKSRTC.
The meeting also discussed freight rates of trucks of JKSRTC, release of pending dearness allowance in favor of SRTC employees, engagement of Consultant for proper utilization of assets of SRTC, commercial exploitation of JKSRTC business community centre Railhead complex and hiring of technical experts for implementation of ITMS.
The BoD approved replacement of overage fleet consisting 150 buses and 100 trucks by induction of 150 new buses to reduce the operational and maintenance cost. The new buses would be deployed on hungry/ suspended routes.
The BoDs also approved release of 17 percent DA in favour of JKSRTC employees raising it from 105 to 122 percent on 6th pay commission basis.
The Advisor who is also the Chairman of the Board, directed the SRTC authorities that concerted efforts be made to improve the overall performance of the Corporation.
The meeting also approved implementation of SRO 43 in favour of the NoKswhose parents expired while performing duties or due to accidental death.
Regarding induction of electric buses in the state, the Chairman directed MD SRTC to visit the neighboring state Himachal Pradesh and study the operational feasibility, tendering specification for its smooth implementation in the state.
The Board also enhanced the budgetary support from Rs 30 crore to Rs 40 crore per year for JKSRTC.
BoDs also authorized MD JKSRTC to engage technical experts from NIC/NIELET for implementation ITMS in the Corporation.
