Housing Board conducts draw of lots for allotting plots

Kathua, Nov 12: J & K Housing Board today conducted draw of lots for allotment of plots in Housing Colony at Kathua. MD J & K Housing Board, R K Katoch, Collector J & K Housing Board, Avleen Kaur Bali, DGMs, Technical Oficer, ACR Kathua, Jatinder Mishra and prospective allottees were present on the occasion and draw was conducted in presence of them. At the outset, MD, R K Katoch assured the allottees that the required infrastructure shall be provided to the plot holders. He informed the public in general that this initiative was taken to ensure that no preferential treatment is given while allotting plot and the housing colony has been established to provide affordable housing to the applicants.
Collector, Avleen said that the plot numbers were also intimated to the successful applicants soon after the draw of lots. 674 Kanals of land has been acquired by the Housing Board for developing Kathua Housing Colony in which 1149 plots were developed in four different sectors out of which 675 plots were already allotted, she informed and further added that for the recently issued demand notice, 148 applications were received for which 375 forms were sold. She also divulged that 83 plots were allotted under open category whereas, 9 plots were reserved against the availability of 92 plots. Later, the Managing Director, J&K Housing Board also visited the Kathua Housing Colony to review construction works and other development needs of the Housing Colony. The MD gave instructions to the officers of Board to take up the construction works immediately.
