Early Times Report

Kathua, Nov 12: Dhanna Village, falling under Lakhanpur block, Tehsil Basohli faces apthay of politicians and therefore could not avail benefits of sanitation schemes of central government.
The Jammu and Kashmir Government claimed that the state had become Open Defecation Free but Kathua district is deprived of such facility .No such sanitation facility is provided in most of the villages especially of mountainous tehsils and people have to go in open for sanitation.
It is pertinent to mention here that Jammu and Kashmir government has claimed that the state had become Open defecation Free state but at ground level dozen of villages are still deprived of sanitation facilities, no latrine was constructed and people have to use open defecation.
The village discloses the fake claim as Narendra Modi's scheme which is yet to reach and facilitate the 40 to 50 houses in the village.
Tripta, Sunita, Shivani, Pritam Singh, Lakshaman Singh, Sushma Devi and many such similar mind women disclosed their grievances and informed that no such facility regarding sanitation is being provided and they have to go open for defecation. It becomes difficult for us to use open toilet or latrine during cross border firing and any community program, they yelled and added that Modi's government claimed for ODF and Swachchta hi Subiyata but where is his Subiyata when women have to use open sanitation. People disclosed that many surveys were conducted to construct latrines in the houses but after several assurances, nothing has been done at ground level. They pointed out the working of BJP's 4 year rule from centre and 3 & half years from state.
The villagers appealed DDC Kathua to provide Sanitation facility in the village according to several government sponsored schemes.
