Early Times Report
udhampur, Nov 12: There is open violation of Model Code of Conduct (MCC) by the government employees who are seen campaigning for certain candidates for the upcoming Panchayati elections here.
Pertinent to inform a government employee of Basantgarh was booked for violation of MCC as he was caught openly campaigning for a candidate of his choice.
Sub-District Magistrate Basantgarh had attached that employee and the order of attachment had been seen on social media like watsup, Facebook etc
It was not the only case as many other government employees are presently busy in this illegal activity.
The other contesting candidates against whom these government employees are campaigning have expressed concern over this.
"We will soon register a complaint with the election authorities if this illegal practise is not stopped soon," a candidate contesting for the post of Sarpanch told this reporter.
"This will enable even a wrong person to win the elections as illegal means of engaging the government employees is involved," Girdhari Lal-a senior citizen said.
The public has appealed to the Dy District Election Officer Udhampur Sapna Kotwal and DC Udhampur, Ravinder Kumar to act strict against the erring employees so that fair Panchayati elections are ensured.
