People resent Govt decision of depositing licensed weapons | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 13: The decision of the Doda administration urging people to deposit licensed weapons has evoked massive criticism. Pertinently, a BJP leader and his brother were shot dead in Kishtwar recently. The killings have caused a scare in the area. Terming the Government order unwarranted and uncalled for , the people of the two districts have sought revocation of the order. Accusing the government of failure to protect their lives, the people said the administration had no right to issue such an order at a crucial juncture. "The administration is exposing the people to risk by seeking deposition of licensed weapons," they said. The residents of twin districts alleged that the State Government committed same blunder in 1990 asked people to surrender their weapons and gave a free hand to militants to strike and make minorities their soft targets. |
