Early Times Report

Udhampur, Nov 13: More than seven decades after independence, around 10 villages of Ramnager in Udhampur district crave for proper road connectivity.
The PWD constructed 3.5 km stretch road from Ramnagar to Kheen-Bheen but it is so dilapidated that people cannot even walk over it, said locals.
The remaining portion was entrusted to PMGSY. Due to poor road connectivity, the villagers are bereft of basic facilities. Students have to walk several kilometers everyday to attend their schools, the locals said adding that even patients have to travel the distance inn traditional palki.
The locals said that politicians who visit the area during elections promised a lot but delivered nothing. Around 15000 souls still use the traditional trekking routes to reach various places.
Sensing that the local politicians have failed to address their problems, the aggrieved people have now appealed to the Prime Minister and the Governor to ensure proper road link for the 15000 souls.
