Anti-graft bodies for no NOC, plum posting to tainted officials

srinagar, Nov 13: The anti-graft bodies are likely to raise the issue with the Governor that tainted officials were using "influence" to get no objection certificate for the post retirement benefits and they shall not be given plum postings.
Sources said that State Vigilance Organisation, State Vigilance Commission is unhappy over the functioning of several departments.
"There are some bureaucrats who are using influence to get the no objection certificate for the post retirement benefits," an official of State Vigilance Organisation said.
The official said that many of the tainted officials have been indicted into misappropriation of funds.
Sources said that anti-graft bodies, like State Vigilance Organisation, State Vigilance Commission, have raised the issue with the government several times about tainted officials being posted at plum postings. "Nothing has been done so far," the official of the State Vigilance Organisation, said.
The official said that SVO will again raise the issue with the government. "The SVO feel that government should help them in investigating cases against tainted officials. The SVO wants that tainted officials should not be posted at plum postings," the official said.
Several tainted bureaucrats against whom cases have been registered for their alleged involvement in wrong doings have been given plum postings by the government in the last few years.
The State Vigilance Organisation has registered cases against around three hundred government officials in the last three years. "Instead taking action against them, government is encouraging them if they are posted on significant posts," the official said. He said among them are several bureaucrats and police officials who have been given plum postings by the government despite their alleged involvement in wrong doings.
There are names of many such officers in PHE, Health, Revenue, Housing and Urban Development Department, who have been given plum postings.
An official of the SVO said that there has been evidence against these officials for having indulged in wrong doings. "Case is only registered when there is some proof against an accused," the official said. "Government has to decide whether an accused official should be given a plum posting or not," the official added.
The official said there are cases against some top bureaucrats who too have been given significant posting despite their alleged involvement in wrong doings. "Many have caused huge caused huge loss to the state exchequer. While the case is under investigation, they have has been given a plum postings," the official said.
