Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 14: Chief Secretary BVR Subrahmanyam Wednesday chaired a video conference with Deputy Commissioners (DCs) of Jammu Division to review the preparedness for rollout of Ayushman Bharat - Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Abhiyan (AB-PMJAY).
Principal Secretary, Health & Medical Education, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Secretary, IT, Chief Executive Officer, AB-PMJAY and other senior officers attended the meeting.
This was the third meeting convened by the Chief Secretary to review the preparedness for rollout of the scheme. Earlier, he chaired a meeting in this regard at Civil Secretariat Jammu on November 08 and in Winter Secretariat Srinagar on November 10.
Chief Secretary asked DCs to fast pace the registration process and ensure that beneficiaries in their respective districts come to Common Service Centres (CSCs) for enrolment and receiving Golden Cards. "Around 80% Golden Cards to the eligible families are targeted for distribution by 5th December and rest by 15th December, 2018" he said and added that Government has decided to chip in with 50% cost and the beneficiary has to now pay Rs 15 only instead of Rs 30 to the CSCs for registration. He said Rs 15 on behalf of the beneficiary will be paid by the Government.
Chief Secretary asked DCs of Jammu, Udhampur, Rajouri, Poonch and Ramban to make arrangements for installing multiple computers/machines in CSCs to fast track the enrolment process owing to large number of beneficiaries in these districts. He asked DCs to launch intensive awareness campaign and mobilization drives through ASHA workers, MPHWs and other officials to encourage people to come to CSCs for registration and receiving their Golden Cards.
