NHPC organizes state level painting competition on Energy Conservation-2018

JAMMU, Nov 14: NHPC Limited organized state level painting competition on Energy Conservation-2018 today at Brig. Rajinder Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu. 6 students who stood 1st, 2nd & 3rd in their respective categories in the competition were awarded Rs 20,000 15,000 & 10,000 respectively and 20 students were awarded consolation prizes of Rs 5,000 each in an impressive prize distribution function, presided over by Sarita Chauhan, Commissioner/Secretary Higher Education Department, J&K Government in presence of Chander Mohan, Regional Executive Director of NHPC for J&K.
Earlier, all the Schools across the State of J&K were requested to organize Painting Competition in their Schools amongst students of class 4th, 5th, 6th (Category-A) and 7th, 8th, 9th (Category-B) and to send 2 best paintings from both the Categories to the State Nodal Officer. As many as 270 Schools & 28725 students from the State of J&K participated in the School Level Painting Competition in the two categories. On November 5, jury consisting of eminent artists and representatives from State Education Deptt., selected 100 paintings out of the 516 paintings received from various schools.
100 students thus selected at School Level appeared in the State Level Painting Competition. Arushi Gupta of Presentation Convent School, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, Karan Kumar of Govt. Girls High School, Sarore, Jammu & Divyansh Bharti of Springdails English School, Kathua won 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes respectively from Category-A and Palvi Kumari of Fatima Convent High School, Bishnah, Parvinder Kour of KV No.1, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu and Insiya Verma of Heritage School, Sainik Colony, Jammu won 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes respectively from Category-B.
