SRINAGAR, Nov 15: Station House Officer (SHO) police station Sonamarg and his team had a narrow escape following an avalanche at Zojila pass on Srinagar-Leh highway late last evening.
Reports said that on Wednesday late evening rescue team headed by SHO Sonamarg Manzoor Ahmad Mir was clearing the stranded vehicles at Zojila when snowfall triggered landslides in the area. "While returning from the avalanche-prone area of Zero point Zojila, the team had a narrow escape as avalanches hit the area," reports quoted a senior police official as saying. "The rescue team included police personnel from police station Sonamarg, traffic police personnel and beacon officials," reports added |
