Isolated rain or snow to occur during next 24 hours

Srinagar, Nov 29: The night temperature improved across Kashmir valley and settled several degree above normal due to overcast conditions though chilly weather conditions continued during the day.
A Met department spokesperson told that isolated rain or snow would occur during the next 24 hours in Kashmir valley and Ladakh region. However, he said weather will again turn dry from Thursday onwards, which could result in dip in the night temperature.
The world famous ski resort Gulmarg, about 55 km from here in north Kashmir, was the only place in the valley where the night temperature was below freezing point. Despite an improvement of about a degree in the night temperature in Gulmarg from Tuesday, the mercury settled at minus 0.8 degree, which is over a degree above normal.
After witnessing an improvement of over 2 degree from Tuesday in the summer capital, Srinagar, people woke up to a chilly Wednesday morning due to overcast conditions, coupled with ice cold winds. The night temperature in Srinagar was 2 degree above normal though day chill intensified as the day progressed.
He said skies will be party to generally cloudy during the next 24 hours in Srinagar, where the maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 12 degree and 2 degree, respectively.
The mercury at world famous health resort of Pahalgam, about 100 km from here in south Kashmir, surged about 4 degree from Tuesday and settled at 1.4 degree. The night temperature in the health resort was about 4 degree above normal.
Qazigund, gateway to the valley, Kupwara in north Kashmir, and tourist resort of Kukernag also witnessed an improvement in the night temperature, which settled at 2.6 degree, 1.2 degree and 3.4 degree, respectively.
