Backstabbed' by power-hungry BJP, Ladakhi leaders knock Governor's door for justice

Jammu, Nov 28: Betrayed by the power hungry BJP leadership, people of Ladakh knocked door of Governor Satya Pal Malik to get their genuine demands addressed.
With a hope that BJP will solve their genuine demands, people of Ladakh, especially of Leh had voted in favour of the Saffron Party in 2014 Parliamentary as well as 2017 Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Leh elections but power hungry leadership of BJP had brutally backstabbed them. Instead of taking problems of Ladakhis seriously, the self-styled Chanikya of BJP Ram Madhav preferred to lure some leadership of Kashmir at the cost of people of Jammu and Ladakh.
For the last 25 years BJP had been supporting the demand of granting Union Territory (UT) status to Ladakh but after getting power the party leadership had shamelessly abandoned this demand to appease a couple of Kashmir based leaders.
Virtually fed up with BJP, today Tsewang Thinles, President, Ladakh Buddhist Association (LBA) accompanied by P.T. Kunzang, Vice-President of the Association, met Governor Satya Pal Malik at the Raj Bhavan here today.
Thinles on behalf of the Association submitted a Memorandum of Demands including granting of Union Territory status with Legislature to Ladakh; inclusion of Bhoti language in the 8th Schedule of the Constitution of India; establishment of a Police Range and a Univesity for Ladakh region; legal protection to the business interests of local population; funds for refurbishment of Chokhang Vihara in Ladakh; creation of a minority commission cell and implementation of the Anti-Conversion Law to safeguard the interests of minorities in the State.
Thinles extended an invitation to Governor for the upcoming 'Losar Mela' in Ladakh which is scheduled from December 8th. Governor assured Thinles that demands submitted by the LBA will be given appropriate consideration.
