Embarrassment for BJP led NDA Govt
11/29/2018 11:25:31 PM
Why did the Raj Bhawan spokes
man said that Governor, S.P. Malik that he (Governor) acted in an impartial way? Had he done any wrong against the centre. Yes, by saying that had he left to the centre he would have no other alternatiove but to invite Sajjad Lone to head the Government. This very statement has placed the central Government in an embarrassing position. Had Sajjad Lone sufficient numbers as he could s take claim to form the Government? This is doubtful because the BJP and two Lone's supporter had the backing of five rebels from PDP. This would not give him the majority to form the Government. However, the anti-BJP groups, the National Conference, the Congress and the PDP have praised the Governor for having taken an impartial stand .But the very statement of Malik has brought the BJP led NDA Government to disrepute and involved in a new controversy. However, the way Malik dissolved the Assembly after it had been allowed to remain in animated suspension is clearly indicates that he(Governor) acted fast to prevent Lone from being invited to form the Government.
The BJP ally and Peoples Conference chairman Sajad Gani Lone has said he had numbers to form the government in the State.
"I have been watching for the last three to four days that there has been a misrepresentation of facts and gross distortion of certain events that unfolded in J&K by some people and unfortunately, especially the Governor. I want to put the record straight," Sajjad said in a statement issued here. He said on that particular day, when he all staked claim, he was the first one to talk to Governor on phone and tell him that he wanted to stake a claim for government formation. "The Governor asked me to send a fax. Thereafter for three hours we tried to unsuccessfully send a fax to the Raj Bhawan. The fax would not go through. I called the Governor's secretary, who had earlier put me on to the Governor. He would not take the call. For three hours we tried and could not get through to any of the numbers of the Raj Bhawan," Sajad said. This clearly indicates bias of the Governor against Lone.Yes Malik would have invited some major controversy had he invited Sajjad Lone to form the Government. And if the centre wished to replace Malik it would place the state of Jammu and Kashmir in a major political instability and turmoil. It is hoped that the centre may not replace Mailk and let the centre convey to him that his statement has placed the centre in an embarrassing situation. Malik is known for voicing gaffe and earlier he had talked about the Jammu and Kashmir Bank Ltd. Simply Malik should be told to set the Information Department right so that it does not show bias in the distribution of advertisements. Let Governor start it at the earliest so that some Jammu based newspapers are given advertisements as per their circulation.
