Govt school sans roof for two years | | | Arun Jasrotia

Udhampur, Nov 29 : The students of a government primary school in Udhampur district have been studying under the open sky for over two Years now. The roof of the school was blown away by a storm followed by heavy rain fall in the Year 2016 . The students of Government Primary School Bogllian in Ghordi West Khass Panchayat of District udhampur are often compelled to sit in front of the damaged school building in the open to take their classes. The school with 18 students, most of them girls, also lack facility of a working toilet. Due to non-availability of proper building the drop out of the Students has increased. Highlighting the concerns of the students and teachers, a local resident of the village said "In 2016 the roof of this got damaged during a storm followed by heavy rainfall. Since then no one bothered to repair the roof. The school has to be closed whenever there is a rain". Students said that they faced too many hardships to cary on with their studies. They appealed to the authorities to repair the school building so that they could study in safe environment. |
