JAMMU, Nov 29: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has registered a formal case against a police official for demanding and accepting bribe from a person after assuring him of securing job for his relatives in the police department. The graft case has been registered against the accused identified as Abdul Gaffar, No.F-22/AP 4th Security PID No.ARP-055730, son of Haji Ab. Latif of Naka Manjhari Mendhar, District Poonch, vide FIR No. 38/2018 u/s 5(1)(d) read with section 5(2) of J&K P.C Act Svt. 2006 at P/S VOJ today. The instant case was registered on the basis of enquiry conducted by the Security Headquarter against accused Abdul Gaffar on the written complaint lodged by one Abdul Majid, son of Alaf Din of Dharana, Tehsil Mendhar, District Poonch regarding allegation of demand and acceptance of bribe money to the tune of Rs1.5 lakh by accused from the complainant. Enquiry conducted revealed that the accused while his posting in J&K Armed Police had demanded and accepted an amount of Rs 1.5 lakh from the complainant with the assurance to get his close relatives adjusted in Police Department. However, despite paying the bribe amount, neither his close relatives were adjusted nor the amount paid to accused was returned to complainant. After registration of the case, investigations have been taken up. |
