Govt school teacher gets 'permission' to speak against New Delhi, Army
11/29/2018 11:38:09 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Nov 29: The Directorate of School Education Kashmir(DSEK), has allegedly granted "permission" to a government school teacher in Kashmir to speak against New Delhi and Indian Army.
Sources said the teacher, who hails from old Srinagar, had approached the authorities to seek permission that he wants to speak on Kashmir at public forums including TV channels, radio stations and seminars etc.
The teacher is understood to have told the government that his "contribution towards mass media would help the state in general and education department in particular."
Sources said the said man has been appearing on the national media and speaks against the government in general and Army in particular.
Sources said the previous government had "helped the teacher get permission" to contribute towards Kashmir by showing his talent.
"There were recommendations that this particular employee should be given an opportunity to show his talent as the same would contribute towards peace and prosperity in the region," said an employee in the education department.
Sources said the teacher, who enjoys patronage of a political party, has been frequently speaking against the government and the security forces.
"He is close to a particular political ideology and the leaders of the same party helped him to become their voice on the media," said a government official on the condition of anonymity.
On watching him on news channels, a delegation of government school teachers had approached the office of directorate of School Education Kashmir with a complaint that how was a "public servant allowed to publicly criticize the government and security forces."
Sources said the delegation was told in reply that he had sought permission to come on media and that the same was allegedly granted in his favor.
The aggrieved teachers said the DESK was resorting to discrimination. "Education department has become a hub of favoritism where some influential people are allowed to work in media as well. One such teacher leaves his work t noon for his role in Doordarshan," the teachers said.
When contacted a senior official said there were some people who have been granted permission to contribute for print and electronic media.
"But we will have to check about this complaint and whether or not he really works with Education Department," the official said.
Meanwhile, it was reliably learnt that teachers are sending a memorandum to Raj Bhawan in this regard.
Despite repeated attempts the person in question in the news report couldn't be contacted for comments.
