18 months imprisonment to two in molestation case

Jammu, Nov 30: JMIC Billawar today convicted two accused for offence of outraging the modesty of a lady colleague who was working with them in a Govt Middle School in Lahri area in the jurisdiction of Billawar police station.
Both the accused namely Ramneek Basotra of ward no.7 Billawar and Krishan Chand of Baggan were sentenced with 18 months imprisonment and fine of Rs 1500.
Incident reportedly took place on 23-08-2016 when two colleagues working with the victim lady in a Govt Middle School in Lahri area of Billawar outraged her modesty.
On the complaint of the victim lady on 30-08-2018, Police station Billawar Kathua lodged FIR no. 85/2016 under section 452, 354/34 of RPC and started investigation.
During investigation police arrested both the accused and final report was then submitted to JMIC Billawar.
During trial, prosecution wing Billawar of Kathua Police succeeded in proving the case beyond all reasonable doubts and accordingly all the accused were proved guilty and convicted for the commission of offence under sections 452, 354/34 RPC.
