40 years RI to two Pak LeT militants

JAMMU, Nov 30: Principal Sessions Judge Jammu Vinod Chatterji Koul today awarded 40 years rigorous imprisonment and fine of Rs 95000/- to two Pak LeT Militants namely Jameel Ahmed alias Abu Chargam S/o Mohd Sadiq R/o Banda Qazi, Alama Iqbal town, Mandian Abatabad, Suba Sarhad Pakistan and Abdul Majid alias Abu Tala S/o Mohd Ahmed R/o Goth, Tehsil Shabadpur, District Nawab Shah, Sind Pakistan, Haji Mohd Baksh.
During investigation of FIR No: 1/2003 for offence u/s 153-A/122/124-A/120-B/121 RPC/ 2/3 EIMCO/3 PSSA/3 EAO/7/25 AA, the police station of JIC, Jammu found that Abdul Majid of Pakistan and Jameel Ahmed of Pakistan were terrorists belonging to the militant organization of LeT and on the direction of Commander of LeT took training in arms and ammunitions in Pakistan and entered into Rajouri-Poonch along with Pakistani terrorists of LeT having criminal intention to indulge in terrorist activities.
Both the accused reached Mumbai from Karachi via Sea route. The accused came to Manjakote, Rajouri on 10.03.2007 along with two escorts where all the four persons were caught. The terrorists were helped by the local guides and to escape from the security forces were given forged identity cards and as also to help the terrorists in their terrorist activities in the State of J&K.
Principal Sessions Judge Jammu Vinod Chatterji Koul after hearing Public Proseuctor Rakesh Badyal for the State observed that accused were Pak nationals and they had entered illegally into the territory of India. Their presence and they being the members of the terrorist organization is sufficient to show that their intention was to carry out subversive activities.
Principal Sessions Judge Jammu Vinod Chatterji further observed that the adequate sentence must commensurate with the level of their guilt.
