DPS organizes 'one nation reading together' activity

JAMMU, Nov 30: In collaboration with Scholastic India, DPS Jammu organized 'One Nation Reading Together' activity in the school on 30th November, 2018. This activity was organized to encourage reading. The event started by taking Reading Pledge written by Bal Sahitya Puraskar winner, Paro Anand.
This was followed by reading and other reading related activities. Teachers of Pre-Nursery and Nursery classes read out beautiful stories to their students who listened to all the stories with attention. To add to the whole feel of reading, "Book Mark Making" activity was conducted for the students of classes I & II in which students designed beautiful and attractive book marks with quotes on reading.
'Character-o-Mania' was organized for classes VI-VIII, wherein students came dressed up as characters of their favourite stories and brought those characters alive through role-play.
Students of classes IX to XII discussed their favourite authors, stories and characters. A graffiti pin up board was also put up wherein number of students and teachers penned down their thoughts about books and reading. The entire event turned out to be a great literary affair with students getting a new perspective on books and reading.
Principal, DPS Jammu, Ruchi Chabra appreciated the efforts of the students and the staff members. She also stressed on reading as it helps to enrich our experience and sharpens our intellect.
