Locals apprehend violence during panchayat polls

Poonch, Nov 30: People living in the several areas falling under sub division Mendhar which are going to polls on December 1 and 4 respectively have apprehended violence during the polls by some anti -social elements operating in the area.
They said that there was a considerable presence of such elements who were grouping to create law and order problem during elections as have been witnessed during previous elections also. These areas include Balakote, Mankote and Mendhar Tehsil.
Source said through the timely action of security personnel does not allow any untoward situation yet precautions needs to be taken and deployment of additional forces should be made on priority .
It is pertinent to mention here that Balakote and Mankote Tehsils are going to polls on December 1,2018 while Mendhar Tehsil will go to polls on December 4, 2018 in the VI phase of panchayat elections.
Locals have urged the district authorities and SSP in particular to keep close watch on the situations and take preventive measures to conduct free and smooth polls in the Mendhar sub divisions.
