Sunderbani, Nov 30: During the panchayat elections in Sunderbani, the supporters of a Sarpanch candidate, Satpal Sharma of Upper Bhajwal 'B' panchayat, attacked on the rival candidate Chander Dutt Sharma and his wife Priyanka Sharma. Incident happened when Chander Dutt Sharma tried to verify the identity of voter in the voter list and it was established that the person was from some other panchayat. On being exposed the supporters of ex sarpanch, Satpal Sharma started pushing and thrashing Chander Dutt Sharma. During the scuffle his wife was also thrashed and dragged mercilessly.
Meanwhile the security forces intervened and rescued the couple from the violent attackers, who have been identified as Suraj Prasher S/o Ashok Kumar, Ajay Kumar s/o Desh Kumar, Vipan Kumar s/o Desh Kumar and Ashok Kumar s/o Dwarka Nath.
An FIR has been lodged in the matter and police were trying to nab the culprits. |
