Early Times Report

SRINAGAR, Dec 10: A senior leader of PDP and former MLA from Gulmarag, Mohammad Abbas Wani tendered his resignation to the party high command today.
According to reliable sources, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) got another jolt on Monday after its leader and former MLA Gulmarag, Abbas Wani resigned from the basic membership of the party.
This comes days after former Finance Minister Haseeb Ahmad Drabu and former MLA Zadibal, Abid Ansari resigned from the party.
Wani according to reports has tendered resignation from the basic membership of the party and has sent a letter to PDP president, Mehbooba Mufti.
However reliable sources said that there were some differences within the party due to which it has compelled the former MLAs to think over their future course of action.
Sources said that soon after the resignation of Haseeb Drabu and Abid Ansari from the basic membership of PDP, many former MLAs followed the footsteps of their associates and they held threadbare discussions with the party workers from their respective constituencies.
The workers and people of their constituency were not happy with the party decisions and there was a doubt that they will not get a mandate in the next general assembly elections, sources informed.
Sources further said that, another PDP leader and former MLA from north Kashmir had called a meeting of his workers at his residence. However in another round of discussions and meeting with some prominent people of his area, he has sought suggestions about their favour and support if he joins any other party, said sources, adding that he may also quit the party.
