JKAACL stages Kashmiri play "Parchoun"

Jammu, Dec 18: J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages (JKAACL) today staged a Kashmiri play "Parchoun" by Feroze Cultural Forum here today at Abhinav Theatre.
On this occasion, senior National conference leader and ex-minister Abdul Rahim Rather was the chief guest. Dr Aziz Hajini, Secretary JKAACL presented the welcome address.
The play (Parchoun) is an imaginary story of person who is actually the son of King. In this play a story-teller is used on the stage to explore the play as story. The King got a baby (male) after ten years of his marriage but unfortunately the queen died after giving birth to new born baby. The king who was on one hand happy for getting baby after ten years of his marriage but on the other side he was also in deep sorrow of his death wife(queen). In the same King's palace there was his greedy sister and greedy brother in law. As the King was in sorrow of his wife , the greedy sister and brother -in-law of the King manage to stole the male baby who born of King and queen and to change him in place of female baby of a Khoja who was also greedy man. A maid was involved to change the King's son with the daughter of greedy Khoja and she was given some money for this shameless work. By the passage of time the baby grows and became loyal to wazir than his own son and works in his house. Khoja always send the the boy (Waheed) to King's court for his personal work. One day he (Khoja) sends Waheed to King's court for some work.The king's daughter who has not come out from her mahal Kahan till date and she was unaware from entire world. On day when the boy (Waheed) enters the King's court suddenly king's daughter saw her and delighted by seeing beautiful young boy and she sends her assistant to manage for his entry here. She felt in his love but initially he denies realizing his poorness and being a human at last he also falls in love with her. When this goes viral through the country, the king orders for searching of the man (Waheed) who has gone underground and at last he has been caught by soldiers to take for hanging.
The man is asked for his last desire before his hanging; he (Waheed) wants to know her parents. The Khoja is brought to King's court to inform about the parents of this man. At last the King is surprised to know that the man (Waheed) is actually the son of King and the man is released and marriage of Waheed and Rukhsana was celebrated with fervour.
