Delegation of JTC, SKF calls Relief Commissioner

JAMMU, Dec 18: A delegation of Jagti Tenement Committee and Soan Kashmir Front J&K headed by its president Shadi Lal Pandita, called on the Relief Commissioner, Relief Orga-nisation(M) Jammu in his office chambers.
During the course of interactions the delegates apprised the Commissioner of the sufferings of the migrants in detail besides issue of ration supplies to the Govt. Employee/pensioners against the ration cards wherein it has been said that only 4 Kg ration is being supplied to this category instead of 10 Kg ration per soul in the ration card.
He demanded that minimum l0 Kg ration be sanctioned per soul for the ration cards issued to Govt./ Employees/Pensioners of migrant community enabling them to meet their domestic requirements.
Relief commissioner was also apprised of the difficulties being faced by the inmates of different residential quarters in different residential blocks of Jagti Migrant town ship where leakages are being experienced in the roofs, bathrooms and drainage system. He also said that though the contracts have been allotted for repairs of the quarters in different residential blocks but the repair work is going on snails pace which has further added to the sufferings of the inmates.
He demanded accelerating the repair works for ensuring timely completion of the repair works to relieve the inmates of the present sufferings. The Government had assured for construction of 6000 residential flats in different districts of Kashmir valley for ensuring suitable accommodation to the PM Package employees but nothing has been done in this regard.
The Relief commissioner was apprised of the same with a request for initiating process of construction of quarters in Kashmir valley for ensuring suitable accommodation to the employees (migrants) in valley.
The Commissioner gave a patient hearing to the demands of the delegation and assured them that the matter shall be taken up with authorities for seeking resolving the issues at an earliest.
